And every girl can have her cake!
Enough of the sad news already. I had a slice of someone's birthday cake for the first time in Melbourne. I think I was pretty famous for paying for a cake but not eat it when I was still lodging in the hostel. I seem to have this aversion towards eating birthday cakes. Sometimes, I don't even my own birthday cake and give it to everyone else. I know it's strange but it is typical of me.
I remembered crying on my 9th birthday because the crowd was too huge.
Anyway, after the unfortunate exam, I rushed down to the city, hot and bothered by the stupid summer sun which arrived too early, to pick up my order from Le Petit Gateau. I have never tried Le Petit Gateau. I did not know how sweet the cake would turn out to be or how good the quality of chocolates used but my gut instincts tell me that it's going to be good.
Turns out that I was right because my sister kept Oohing and Aahing. I silently ate my cake, savouring the fact that every bite of the brownie based chocolate gateau cake with passionfruit mousse was heaven.
The sweet chocolate-y layer which covers the topmost of the cake was well balanced with the slight bitterness of the chocolate gateau. Its richness was toned down by the tangy passionfruit mousse. The crushed roasted pecans in the brownie was a perfect match with the bordering between cakey to fudgey brownie.
Yes, every bit of it was heaven. My sister cutting the birthday cake.
When I carried this in the tram, everyone was trying to peer into the box with this what-is-inside-there look on their faces.
She has a freaking long name.
It made everybody happy. Especially my sister. I wish her well and hope that her dreams will come true.
On the side:
-The summer sun is killing my apetite for good. I had one tiny block of cake yesterday for dinner and this morning, a small bowl of oats because I do not want to eat anything. It is so hot that my cravings are reduced to zero. Yet, the sun is tempting me to go out and do some exercise!
-I feel like getting very lightweight, flowing and short dresses
